Congratulations on deciding to move your business phone system to the cloud! Here are the 3 steps you need to take to get fully switched over and start using your new VoIP system.
Step 1: Port Your Phone Number
You can keep your existing phone number by transferring (porting) it from your old carrier to Telzio. Go to telzio.com/getnumber and upload your last bill to get the process going. We will poke your old carrier to release the number to us, and we will notify you of the porting date by email. If you don’t have a number yet, just browse for a new number on our site.
Step 2: Set Up Your Call Flow
Next you’ll have to set up your phone system. Your call flows tell your phone system how to handle incoming calls. What do you want to happen when people call your number?
You can design your phone system as simple as forwarding to your cell phone number. If you need more than that, you can customize your phone system with automated menus, extensions, call forwarding groups, voicemails, and much, much more.
The portal is kept minimalistic to make it easy to navigate and use, no matter how many features or users you have.
Step 3: Set Up Your Users
What phones are you using? Do you have IP phones or are you strictly using mobile phones?
If you’re simply forwarding all calls to another phone number, you will not need to create users, but if you are using desk phones or softphones like our mobile app, then you will need to create users in your account so they can log into their devices.
Users with Telzio are free as long as you have your number hosted with us, so all you have to do is go to telzio.com/users and click “Add User”. To learn more about creating users, visit our support page.
