Inbound Calling

Telzio enables you to receive inbound calls from your Telzio phone number using the Telzio app, IP phones, and softphones. You can also forward calls to a non-Telzio phone number, such as a mobile or landline number.

In this article, you’ll learn about the different ways to receive inbound calls with your Telzio service.

Before you can get started with inbound calling, here are a few important notes:

  • Telzio is an internet-based phone service, which means you can take calls from anywhere your device has internet connectivity.
  • In order to receive inbound calls, first you need to create a User for your phone system.

  • Telzio support unlimited concurrent calls, which means all your employees can be on a call using a single Telzio phone number without callers experiencing a busy signal. With Telzio, there is no need for rollover lines.

IP Phones

Telzio works with a wide range of IP phones, including desk, wireless, and conference phones. You can browse our shop and order preconfigured phones that arrive ready for calling. If you need help choosing the right phone for your business, our supporters are happy to help. Contact us for recommendations.

In most cases, you can use existing IP phones with Telzio. You can search our Support pages for step-by-step guides on configuring specific models to use with Telzio. It’s important to note that our supporters can only provide limited support on phones that are not purchased directly from our shop.

Mobile App

The Telzio mobile app enables you to start calling from day one, without investing in physical phones. The app provides similar functionality to an office phone, including:

  • Hold
  • Mute
  • Speakerphone
  • Transfer
  • Call Recording
  • Conferencing
  • Speed Dial
  • Contacts

With the app, you can automate inbound call routing to employees, transfer calls to employees, and call internally between employees. It’s helpful to note that calling internally between extensions is included as part of your Telzio service, and does not count towards your usage.

A softphone is a third-party application you can download on your computer to make and receive calls with Telzio. Telzio works with all SIP compatible apps.

Forwarding to Non-Telzio Numbers

You can receive calls on your Telzio number without downloading the app or getting an IP phone by forwarding all calls to a non-Telzio number, such as your mobile or landline number.

It’s important to note that forwarding to non-Telzio numbers counts as inbound and outbound minutes towards your plan for the duration of the call (inbound minute to the Telzio number + outbound minute to the non-Telzio number).
