Yealink T2 Series Setup Guide

The Yealink T2 is a series of business IP phones that you can use with your Telzio phone system. There are currently 5 different models in the T2 series, offering up to 16 lines and simple web configuration.

In this article, you’ll learn how to configure phones in the Yealink T2 series to use with Telzio.

Important notes:

  • You must have a user before you can configure your phone.
    Learn more about Getting Started with Users.
  • If you’re using an IP phone that was used with another provider, do a factory reset on the phone before you get started.
  • This guide pertains to all phones in the Yealink T2 series, including the T19P, T21P, T23G, T27G and T29G

Setup a Yealink T2 Series IP Phone

Follow these steps to configure your Yealink T2 IP phone. 

Log into the phone’s web interface

  1. 4 buttons in a circle around a 5th button in the middle on a Yealink T2 series ip phone.Press the phone’s “Select” button (the one in the middle of the 4 arrow buttons. This will show the phone’s IP address – it could look something like this:
  2. Type the IP address into your web browser’s address field and press enter.
  3. Login with the following username and password:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin

Configure the phone with your username

After you log in, you will see the phone’s status page. This shows all accounts configured on the phone and other useful data.

  1. From the green top-menu, press Account.
  2. Enter the following settings:
    Line Active: Enabled
    Label: Enter the name you want displayed on the phone
    Display Name: Your Name
    Register Name: Your Username (All lowercase)
    Username: Your Username (All lowercase) 
    Password: Your Password (Case Sensitive)
    SIP Server 1
    Server Host:

    Leave the rest of the settings as they are by default.

  3. Press Confirm
  4. The phone is now ready to make and receive calls.

Configure Busy Lamp Field (BLF) keys.

This feature only applies to the T27G and T29G phones. BLF keys allow you to utilize the line keys on your phone for quickly dialing other users in your company, see who is available or on a call and even pick up calls for your co-workers.

  • A green key light indicates that a user is available
  • A red key light indicates that a user is currently talking
  • A blinking red light indicates that a user’s phone is currently ringing
  • A turned off key light indicates that a user is not logged in
  1. From the green top-menu, select “DssKey“.
  2. Select which key you want to configure. Your phone may have multiple pages, and you can select a different page of keys from the left-hand menu (For example Line Key 8-14).
  3. Enter the following settings:
    Type: BLF
    Value: Username of the user you want to display info for
    Label: The text you want to show in your phone’s display next to the key

Configure Voicemail.

In order for your desk phone to work with Telzio voicemail, you will need to make the following settings changes:

  1. From the green top-menu, select “Account.“
  2. From the gray side-menu, select "Advanced."
  3. Select which key you want to configure. Your phone may have multiple pages, and you can select a different page of keys from the left-hand menu (For example Line Key 8-14).
  4. Enter the following settings:
    Subscribe for MWI: Enabled
    Voice Mail: *98
